Form Work

Due to the fact that concrete bonds to all formwork surfaces to some degree, the use of chemical mould release agents can be valuable, if not essential when working with concrete formwork.

Chemical release agents react with the cement to produce a smooth finish to concrete within the formwork. It is applied to the inner face of shuttering, concrete formwork and moulds, before the pouring of the concrete. The release agent enables a clean release requiring little or no effort after removal of the concrete formwork. The finish of the resultant concrete is clean, smooth and uniform.

In addition to being invaluable to formwork, chemical release agents can also be used to stop the build-up of concrete on tools, equipment and machinery. The release agent can be brushed or sprayed on to the surface at a rate applicable to the method of application and porosity of the concrete formwork. A single even coat can also be applied prior to pouring the concrete into the formwork.

Our Febstrike chemical release agent maintains the surface of steel moulds in good condition, eliminating build-up of concrete residue and protects the formwork against rust. It also increases the life of wooden forms and prevents rust on steel formwork.
