Self Levelling Floor Compound
Using a self levelling floor compound is an economical method of levelling and renovating existing floors, before installation of your chosen floor covering.
Self levelling floor compounds are effective for encasing underfloor heating systems where its thermal transfer properties enhance the heating application.
These compounds are ideal as a general purpose floor leveller in homes, schools, office buildings, public building, sports halls, retail stores and hospitals.
Concrete floors often have bumps and valleys that are not that evident to the naked eye. Likewise, old wooden floors can have dips and bumps due to floor joists that may have twisted or flexed over time. These can effectively be filled using a quality self levelling floor compound.
When applying self levelling compounds, the existing floor surface must be free from dust and grease, otherwise the floor leveller will not adhere properly. Please note that floor levellers and self levelling compounds will NOT add strength to the existing floor. The floor needs to be stable and strong BEFORE applying the floor leveller compound.
